Hurt and joy can exist side by side - the paradoxes of life. Sometimes we forget that this is how it is. Life is simple and also at times complex. Thanks for sharing.
Pain is pain is pain is pain. Privilege cannot prevent it from happening, nor does it dampen the intensity, but resources certainly help. I know this story well. Thank you for speaking your truth and bringing this into the light!
This is beautiful. I think grief and gratitude, while polar opposite, also complement each other in some way. We don’t get to choose our grief, but we get to choose what we make of it. And just because we choose our path forward, doest mean it comes easily either. Sending love and light to you and your family 🌻
Thank you. And thank you for your comments. I agree, wholeheartedly. Grief is a weird and winding path none of us would choose, but at least we get a say in how to travel on it.
Beautifully written. I'm sorry for your loss. I know the complex nature of grief and how it can impact our lives through a simliar experience with the loss of my sister. I think the beauty of privilege is in its recognition. We all have privilege in some form or another. What matters is how we choose to use it. Acknowledging its existence means you appreciate what you have and are using it to accomplish something meaningful with it.
That is so true. Working as a clinician, and just being a human, it never ceases to amaze me how powerful everyone's story is if you dig a little deep.
This was so beautiful, thank you for sharing. I know it had to be difficult and painful. I too am learning that 2 opposite things can be true at the same time, holding space for the pain and loss while holding space for joy can be so counterintuitive but it’s a very powerful lesson that needs to be shared 🩷

Wow, thank you for that.
Also, I am definitely real!
